Road ID

The Wrist ID Original

I believe in this piece of equipment and try to always wear mine even on short local rides.  Protect yourself and those you love with one of these.

Panniers

Ortlieb Bike Packer Plus, Sport Packer Plus,  and Ultimate 5 Plus (Medium) with Map Case

What can I say about these bags that has not been said already?  They are great although they are expensive.  If you want to be sure your gear is protected and dry then these are your bags and worth every cent.

Rear Rack

Tubus Cargo

This rack is built like a tank and if you want the best then this is for you.  It will give many years of service.

Front Rack

Delta Mega Rack Shock Treatment Bicycle Front Rack

Even though this took some modification to fit my bike it did function well.

Tires

Schwalbe Marathon Plus

These tires worked very well, in fact I have already ordered a set for the project bike in my upcoming ride.  I recommend them highly.

Tubes

Slime Self-Sealing Tubes

In New Mexico the front tire sealed it self after running over a goat head and a wire.  The back tire wasn't as lucky but the metal I ran over was larger.  I still believe they can help on a ride and also have purchased a set for the project bike.

Delta Airzound Bike Horn

 Delta Airzound Bike Horn

This is a great horn.  It is very loud and is refilled with an air pump so there is no further costs for refills.

Tent

Sierra Designs Meteor Light

I know this is an older tent but it still works great and I will continue to use it for trips and backpacking until it no longer works.

Sleeping Bag

Big Agnes Horse Thief Sleeping Bag

I was very satisfied with this bag.  If you need a slightly lower temp bag then just add a liner and feel comfortable for another 5+ degrees.

Sleeping Pad

Big Agnes REM Insulated Air Core Sleeping Pad

The integrated design of the pad and bag keeps you on the bag and allows a lighter carry weight.  Lighter = Better Satisfaction for me.

Water Purifier

SteriPEN Adventurer Handheld Water Purifier

I did not need to use this on my last trip and actually sent it home early.  If I was traveling in the back-country or outside the US I would be more apt to use it.  The process is proven and can protect you on trips.

GPS

Garmin GPSMap 60C

This functioned very well for me and I still believe Garmin makes the best GPS units out there.

Handlebar Mount

Garmin 60 Series Handlebar Mount

I wasn't sure this would hold the GPS over some of the roads I traveled and even attached a rubber band as a backup but the mount did it's job very well and I trust it even more now.

Multi-Tool

Gerber Diesel Multi Tool w/ One Handed Opening

Gerber makes very good knifes and tools and this one is no exception.  I will use it on all future trips.

Phone

Sprint PPC6700

The phone functioned very well and allowed me to use it as a modem for my laptop during the trip.  I have since upgraded to the PPC-6800 and will use the new one on my next trip.
